This red-headed woodpecker has a nest in a telephone pole near the Baldwin depot.
Red-headed woodpeckers lay 4-8 eggs in a cavity on a bed of wood chips. Both adults incubate the eggs, feed the young
and defend the nest. The eggs hatch in about 14 days and the young birds leave the nest about 27 days later.
