A large Monarch caterpillar dines on milkweed.

This caterpillar is a few days old. The white dot is a Monarch egg.

Not many caterpillars reach this size. Yellow Jackets cruise the milkweeds.

I took this photo in the morning but by afternoon he was dead, a victim of the wasps.

We're protecting this one with a wire cage, hoping he'll survive.
